This is a tool to monitor IT infrastructure.
The MonitorIT tool provides support for a variety of servers in the network that is readily available out of the box. These include Citrix XenServer, VMware, ESX/ESXi/vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, XenApp/XenDesktop, Business Applications, Network devices, Storage, Windows/Linux/Unix, etc. It is possible to use the tool in any one of the two approaches. One is a agent-less configuration, the other is agent based. In the agent based configuration there will be a central server with agents installed on all the computers in the network. Depending of the configurations, you are able to gather different granularity of data. You install one version or the other depending on the requirements. This way, you are not limited to only those metrics that are available through hypervisor and may not include granular data about the virtual machines and their applications. The tool has API integrated to monitor VMware ESX/ESXi/vSphere and Citrix XenServer environments agentlessly.
The data that can be collected include metrics on host, virtual machines, and attached storage. Agents can then gather further details from the virtual machines such as application detail or Log Management. The tool combines the two modes effectively to help monitor infrastructure including XenApp and XenDesktop deployments, physical servers, network devices, and any business applications. The intelligent Agent configuration allows the Administrator to collect detailed data. It can take automatic corrective active actions as required. Deploying of physical OR virtual servers is possible. Basic details like CPU, Memory, and Disk as well as application level metrics can be collected. Performance and availability of processes and services can be monitored and you could configure alerts, create reports, and archiving of log files. This is a very handy and a good tool.
